A lovely hotel and Spa set in beautiful grounds. The food is first class and the staff helpful and friendly.
Went to a Christmas party and the food was mediocre at best, the music was awful and the drinks shockingly expensive.To top it all off the receptionist at the end of the evening was the rudest person I have ever met.Shouting at all the guest as they were leaving demanding they were quite.I wouldn't mind if I had actually been drunk and making noise. Telling me to "Shut my F###ing mouth" is completely unacceptable even if I was drunk. There is a polite way of asking people to be quiet and that is not the way. I will never come back here!
Relaxing venue. Good bar. Nice rooms, welcoming staff. Good in colder weather the fires are lit. There are lots of old items add an historic atmosphere.
Wonderful staff, great spa facility (trouble finding suitable time for a treatment but I guess that means it's popular!), Lovely room and glorious surroundings! I would definitely book again without hesitation! My only niggle was that the staff in the restaurant could be a touch more attentive... But nothing major :-) The hotel is quiet, well managed, well kept and the spa area including pool was quiet on my visit.
Needs a little redecoration but a very pleasant place. Restaurants good. We did have an issue with housekeeping not doing their job as well as you would expect for this level of hotel. I have dropped 1 star because of it.
